Mrs Emily Akuffo was First Lady of Ghana from 1 July 1978 to 4 June 1979. She was an educator by calling.

Lt. Gen. Fred Akuffo was the seventh Head of State of Ghana after he drove an upset on July 5, 1978 to topple the then head of state, General Acheampong.
