Former Ambassador claims that Bawumia has dual citizenship and advocates for his punishment.

Sam Pee Yalley stated that documents indicate the vice president possesses dual citizenship and did not renounce the British one prior to taking office as vice president of Ghana in 2017 until the present during a conversation on Radio XYZ on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

“Bawumia’s record at the Bank of Ghana in London shows that he is a British citizen now that the Supreme Court has ruled that a person who holds dual citizenship cannot serve in parliament. Before ex-President Kufuor brought him to Ghana in 2009, he was a British citizen, the man is quoted as saying.

He claims that Dr. Bawumia claimed to be a British citizen in numerous documents while serving as the director of the international bank, although there is no evidence that he did so prior to 2017.

Sam Pee Yalley is consequently urging the launch of legal proceedings against Bawumia in a manner similar to how James Gyakye Quayson was treated.
