The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Oscars board will now include five prominent Nollywood figures.

Based on their contributions to the film industry, veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, director CJ Obasi, producer Jade Osiberu, and writers Kunle Afolayan and Shola Dada have all been chosen.

They now have voting privileges for The Oscars nominees and wins as members.

“The Academy is pleased to welcome these experts and artists as members. They represent remarkable global talent in all areas of cinema and have had a significant influence on both the study of the arts and sciences of film and on moviegoers around the world, according to Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang.
