Ghana lost a number of well-known people in 2023 who had made important contributions to many different sectors.
Their influence on the country will be recognized, and their legacies will continue to inspire future generations. Following is a list of notable Ghanaians that passed away in 2023:
Christian Atsu – Ghanaian Football Star
Talented Ghanaian forward Christian Atsu unfortunately perished in the horrific 6.8-magnitude earthquake that devastated Turkey, killing thousands and leaving many people homeless.
The horror of the Ghanaian international footballer trapped beneath the debris shocked Ghanaians when they awoke.
With more than 60 appearances for Ghana, he enjoyed a fantastic international career while playing for the Turkish club Hatayspor.
In March 2023, he passed away at the age of 31 and was buried in Ada.
