As the Black Stars get ready to play the USA in an international friendly, Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo has become the newest player to be sidelined by injury.

After falling to Mexico 2-0 the previous Sunday, Chris Hughton’s team will play the Americans on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Tariq Lamptey, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku, and Osman Bukari were all ruled out for the match against El Tri, leaving the West Africans without a number of important players.

Aidoo will also sit out the match against the United States and will instead go back to his club in Spain for additional evaluation.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has finally confirmed that the Celta Vigo center-back who hobbled out against Mexico two days ago sustained an ankle injury.

“Further testing by team doctors have established that Aidoo suffered an injury to the ankle tendons and will need prompt medical attention in order to resume activity. The footballer will return to his club in Spain to receive additional care, according to the Ghana FA.

When they meet the USA on Tuesday, Ghana will attempt to get back to winning ways.

At the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, Mexico easily defeated the Black Stars, with to goals from Hirving Lozano and Uriel Antuna in the second half.
