Although the cause of death is unknown, Moschino’s parent company Aeffe announced his death on Friday in Milan, referring to it as “a sudden illness.”

Renne began working at Moschino on November 1, having previously worked for over 20 years at Gucci. His first collection, for fall 2024, was scheduled to appear in February during Milan Fashion Week, replacing Jeremy Scott, who left the company in March of last year after ten years.

“Despite having only been with us for a brief period of time, Davide was able to win our respect and affection right away. Massimo Ferretti said in a message shared on Instagram, “Today we are left with the responsibility of carrying on what his imagination and creativity had only envisioned.”

“Franco Moschino had a nickname for his design studio la sala giochi, the playroom,” Renne stated at the time of his appointment.

Italian fashion in particular strikes a deep chord with me, and all I can accomplish with the house of Moschino’s immense force should be done with a playful, joyful spirit. a spirit of exploration and experimentation
