In the upcoming 2023 African Cup Of Nations (AFCON), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a forty per cent (40%) increase in prize money for teams that make it through to the quarterfinals and grand finale.

This move demonstrates CAF’s dedication to raising the competition’s profile ahead of the competition’s start in Côte d’Ivoire on January 13.

In the previous edition held in Cameroon in 2021, the champions, Senegal, received $5 million, while runners-up, Egypt, secured $2.5 million.
